The quality of the works exhibited, and the variety of collectors that attend, have made the event a highlight on the art market calendar. ST-ART has a reputation for being a place to start and a stepping stone. For many galleries, artists, or collections, Strasbourg may be the beginning of big things. The contemporary art fair, located just a few steps from the European Parliament's headquarters, is held in a rich cultural region, which includes the HEAR (Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin), FRAC (based at Selestat) and Apollonia European Art Centre, flourishing in the heartland of Europe. The ST-ART fair, an observatory of trends and a new venue for the START fair, is hosted by the new Strasbourg Exhibition Centre.
